How does import from Flickr work?

WebAsyst Photos offers an opportunity of importing photos from a Flickr account. Import is performed using Flickr API and allows retrieving images from your own Flickr account only. Photos from other accounts cannot be imported, only those uploaded in your personal account – this is a requirement set by Flickr API.

To import photos from Flickr the following required:

  1. In WebAsyst Photos settings (in the import window that appears when you click on the "Import from Flickr" link) enter your API key information: Flickr API key and Flickr API shared secret.

  2. In the configuration of your Flickr account enter the correct Callback URL. It is an obligatory requirement otherwise import will not work.
Detailed instructions on what and how needs to be configured are contained in the Flickr import window available from within WebAsyst Photos.

Note: WebAsyst Photos import image versions with maximum resolution that Flickr server offers for import. As a rule, those are 1024 pixels sized thumbnails, however, this may depend on the specific image and your account status. Due to the limitations applied by Flickr API, images from free Flickr cannot be imported by WebAsyst Photos.
