Reading log files

If you have WebAsyst installed as PHP scripts on your server, it is recommended to analyze the contents of the WebAsyst log files to perform efficient troubleshooting.

If a log file contains a large number of diagnostic messages, understanding which of them relate to the problem being troubleshooted may be challenging. To simplify the analysis of log files, keep to the following simple procedure:

  1. Clear the contents of the log file (with a backup copy saved beforehand, if necessary).
  2. Perform the action that results in an error.
  3. Check the contents of the updated log file, newly appended messages should be analyzed for troubleshooting.
